A total of 59 participants attended the workshop: 22 from the U.S., 24 from Brazil, 6 from Argentina, 4 from Chile, one each from Colombia,Peru and Uruguay. Of these participants 35 were academics, 8 from industry, and 6 from funding agencies. . Funding from NSF Grant CTS-9815184 was used to cover travel of 19 US representatives.
