Here are the instructions on how to get to the conference venue in case you are not able to be at the Rio de Janeiro international airport (GIG) on Tuesday, July 19, to get the special transfers provided by the PASI (the schedules will be available soon).
The easiest way to reach the PASI venue is to fly to Rio de Janeiro's International Airport Tom Jobim, formerly known as Galeao International Airport (code: GIG).
The distance from the airport to the PASI venue is approximately 200km. A taxi ride to the hotel will be very expensive (around U$200), and is therefore not recommended.
After arriving at the airport, it is necessary to go to the "Rodoviaria" ([roh-doh-vee-AH-ree-ah], which means "bus station" in Portuguese). To reach the "Rodoviaria" from the airport, you can take a taxi (aprox R$70/ U$43), or a bus ("Real" [re-AHL] company). The "Real" bus number is 2018 and the ride costs R$8.00/ US$5).
If you decide to take the bus, be careful not to miss the "Rodoviaria" bus stop - make sure you TELL THE DRIVER you want to get off at the "Rodoviaria" stop.
Once you arrive at the "Rodoviaria", you need to find the ticket booth for the COSTA VERDE bus company, and purchase a ticket from Rio to PARATY ([pah-rah-TEE]). Costa Verde's ticket booth is located very close to the main entrance of the bus station (Rodoviaria), slightly to the right.
The Rio-Paraty bus schedules are:
The one-way bus trip to Paraty costs about R$55,00/US$34.00, but you need get off at the PEREQUE ([peh-reh-QUEH]) stop. Once again, make sure you TELL THE DRIVER that you need to get off at this stop. The Hotel do Bosque (conference venue) is 300 meters away from the Pereque bus stop.
